The Project:
This factory extension utilised the existing purlins and side rails to remove the need for a portal frame adjacent to the existing building, this added another level of complexity, and a requirement for enhanced surveys to meet the demanding connection needs.
Each purlin and side rail connection was checked against the site survey data and bespoke connections made where required.
A point cloud model, generated via aerial photogrammetry, was used to confirm the terrestrial surveys.
Building Simulation:
This is a rendered simulation of the finished steel frame, these video’s give a better understanding of the overall construction and scale of the project.

This aerial photogrammetry point cloud was developed to check the profile of the existing structure, ensuring the the new to existing matched perfectly, the position of the holding down bolts were also verified with this cloud model.
